The Chronicles of Gnarnia

No surprise that it would take a third party to discover that seven tons of E.Coli contaminated ground beef, now packaged into innumerable smaller quantities was distributed to where again was that, oh ya they don’t know!  How pathetic is that. The American agricultural agenda up to its normal bullshit. I was mulling this over at work tonight. As my mind meandered between freshening water glasses, clearing people’s plates for them, and doing some general soul-searching and international contemplation, I would ultimately (per usual) get some song stuck in my head.  Tonight I just couldn’t get Bob Dylan’s classic, Blowin In The Wind off of my mind.  It just seemed fitting. So as a complement to this lovely article on the beef industry (read multinational corporations, the corn industry, wall street, and the american government)’s incompetence and irresponsibility, I’ll include the lyrics to Blowin In The Wind.

Bob Dylan- Blowin in the Wind

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, ’n’ how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, ’n’ how many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they’re forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it’s washed to the sea?
Yes, ’n’ how many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free?
Yes, ’n’ how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn’t see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, ’n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, ’n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind
